i will explain
each weekend, i have to film 2 rugby matches for my club.
i need to do 3 copies of each at least, so 6 dvds to copy, sometimes more.
so i will use direct copying from my video camera (dv input) to DVR recorder to make master dvds rapidly and do dvd copies with my computer.
so why a dvd recorder with a hdd ?
it's for recording rugby matches on TV and edit them (tries compilation for example)
the only solution i see is to copy hdd contents on a dvr-rw
and edit them on pc with appropriate softwares.
my dream was to transfert directly mpeg2 to pc for editing
it's not possible![]()

I believe that if you buy recorder that records to DVD-RAM (or HDD and then to DVD-RAM), you can just copy files that are on it and rename extension to mpg and you have your mpeg2 file. Does it make it more simple for you ?

I see now what was the issue... Just to point out... With KiSS you can copy files directly to PC (as it seems from web). Of cource... if you need DVD Recorder, then this will solve only part of the problem.Originally Posted by lolivePinnacle Studio 8 and DV home video editing (ver.9 already home)

Pioneer's PRV-LX1 comes close to your description for features but it sells for over $4,000. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/product/detail/0,,2076_204147818_38303,00.html
The Pioneer DVR-533H-S and 633H-S can record your DV sources, can record from the broadcast programs to hard drive for cutting segments, and can make fast exact duplicates of existing burned DVDs all without using a computer. -
hum hum
4.000$ is a little bit expensive
for me
so the model DVR-533H-S is enough for me
