Hi
I've got a lot to learn - so forgive me if I doing something blatantly stupid.
I want to store a Premiere Pro 1.5 .avi file OFF the hard drive, for
future editing. I have tried MSU on the recommended compression
but that 'added' more to the original file. When I played the file back
(via PP) it had very fine lines - so that didn't work.
The file I am working on, has been captured from an old VHS tape
that I will not have access to anymore.
I wanted to save the best quality I could.
As an experiment I exported the avi file as DV PAL - and saved it
to a DVD.
My idea was that I could import the DVD - edit it (as a test) resave
it - and see if the quality had lost anything in the process (can't get
an answer RE: if saving to DVD twice - will compress the file TWICE,
no one seems to know).
MY PROBLEM;
How do I import the DVD saved in PP back into PP 1.5 so that
I can test edit?
Thanks a lot - regards, Stephen
