  1. I've made a few titles with Red color, and Courier New font.

The titles look great when I'm writing them, but when I put them into the timeline, they are jaggedy and pixelated around the edges.

I had this problem once before, and it was because I would change the speed of the titles, but now they look crap even when I haven't changed the speed.

    Hi havash,

I presume you're referring to how they look in the "Monitor" window...

It sounds like the titles haven't been rendered yet, and so Premiere 6.0 is replaying an approximation of what it will look like.

Even if they have been rendered, the "Monitor" window is small an is there to give you a good idea of how the final video will look - not a crystal clear version. On top of that, you're viewing interlaced material on a progressive display monitor, explaining the jaggie lines.

Do a sample project and output your finished article - I've never had any problems with titles in the finished article, and I've used Premiere 6.0 for a long time (before upgrading to Premiere Pro 1.5).

As an aside, www.wrigleyvideo.com/videotutorial might be of interest, along with the forums there...
There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

    Carpe diem.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.

They look rough in the preview, and if you export as DV AVI and play back through WMP (or anything that uses the microsoft DV codec, they will look just as bad. But when encoded as mpeg2 and played back on your player they will be fine. It is disconcerting that this happens, so I understand your apprehension.
