Can Soundforge or anything else open a sterio wave file with a size of 2.5 GB's, for editing. That's a four hour recording. I just did a test run and the actual file was 2.35 GB.

Did you try to open it in soundforge ?
I would have thought that any decent program should open it - it just might take a while to open.If in doubt, Google it. -

It appers to be the files size that matters. I use generaly use Blaze audio's program for editing. I just found out it has a 2 gig limit. I just tried Audacity, with the same results. they both can open a 3 hour file (under 2 gigs) in matter of minutes.
