I have a Samsung DCB-P850R pvr recorder. The harddrive is 160 gb and that is not enough because there’s no way to transfer recorded material to an external drive. So I decided to pick out the drive and put it in my computer to check if I could transfer the files that way.
And that was no problem. Problem is that I cant find a program to open the files stored on the harddrive. The hardrive is divided into two partitions which one is only 500 mb. That one is probably only used for temporary files. On the other partition the file structure is like this.
You got a recorded file called TV6_20070828_2106.tv which is 512 mb. Then you got two folders with similarly names. @TV6_20070828_2106.tv and .$TV6_20070828_2106.tv.
The @ folder contains some small files and the $ folder contains files named data1, data2 and so on. All the data files are 512 mb except the last one.
Problem is now which program to open the .tv file in the root and the data file in the $folder.
I’ve tried a lot of different programs including gspot and nobody is recognizing the file.
I’ve put up a rar file containing a sample of a .tv file from the root and the @folder for that file. You can get it from here. http://www.filefactory.com/file/0a533e/
Fiddle around with it and see if you can open up the .tv file.
If you can please report here what type of file it is.
The .tv file in this rar is only 74 mb and had no $ folder with data files. Probably because the recorded program only was 2 minutes long.
