My burner works fine with mpegs. Using adaptek CD Creator 4.0 (VCD mode), the software claims that I have created the CD correctly, but when I try to run the *.dat file, the CD reader goes into infinite "retry" and the whole computer locks up.
I've tried reading the .dat file with various programs, including just >copying< the file back to the hard disk. Mostly nothing works, although the file did play in an older version of Media Player, playing from the CD burner drive.
Any ideas what may be going wrong? Is this a software problem? A hardware problem?
I've burned the same CD twice to make sure it wasn't a random error in the recording ...
Thanks.
