I have been trying to move some VHS tapes to VCD, using a SONY camcorder as an analogue to DV converter then a firewire card to capture. All of my software (Videowave5, Ulead VS4) hits the 4GB limit in W98SE. So I bought Ulead Moviefactory - which has fixed the OS problem - but it won't capture, and support reckon that the problem must be an incompatibility with the camera!!
Anyway, much outlay - still no capture. Since I am rich in editing and rendering and burning software, can anyone recommend an inexpensive (free?) way of JUST getting the capture done - working around the 4GB limit. I have seen posts about vdub doing this, but I don't think vdub handles firewire . . .unless you know better? or an alternative?
Thanks in advance!

Pinnacle studio version 7 splits up the video in 4GB parts. I think the prog. was on Sharereactor a while back. Otherwise I can re-rel.! A much better way, of course, would be to convert your file system to NTFS, which has a filesize limit of 4TB. But that would of course mean upgrading to an NT based Windows (you don't mention your OS!?!)

Scenalyser can be set to break/split files at capture to fit various needs.
