Hello,
Capturing from JVC S-VHS deck.
What do the 'picture control' settings really mean? Auto/Soft/Edit/Sharp.
Whats the best to use for a home movie capture?
Thanks,
W

I could be wrong and will gladly stand to be corrected (I do have a JVC S-VHS) but my understanding was the picture control setting were for playback only and would not have any impact on recording / capture.
I use auto (most videophile test disks caution against using Soft or Sharp settings for anything). Soft usually means loss of detail and Sharp usually means too much noise. If edit means to can adjust the parameters then I would use a recognized test tape if you can find one, or just go with Auto.
