    Greetings!

I'm going to best describe this as well as I can!

The wife and I have a spare room that we wanted to move both our PC's into and put a 32" LCD TV in there as well. But what I don't want to do is pay comcast to come and run cable into that room and pay for another cable box.

So what I'm search of is .. some thing that we could control the cable box in the other room (969 sq ft apartment flat) and have that video and sound piped into the spare room. Wireless if possible!

I understand that obviously you can't split stations that whatever station is on that box would be playing on both TV's. There's has to be such a device (certainly because I thought of it)! I just don't know what the technical term is for it.

And if I get lucky and there is such a piece of equipment I could put a KVM switch on the spare room TV and buy and extra device and be able to flip flop between the sources if one of the source TV's is in use by her or I.

Hope somebody can help me out! She's nagging the mess out of me to get this project on the roll!

    Thanks much!

An RF remote extender might work for controlling the cable box, but distance and walls weaken the RF signal. This is a popular choice, but not all remotes are compatible with it. For example, if you have a Harmony universal remote, it isn't compatible with all of them, and you would be wise to get Harmony's remote extender instead. One requirement is that the remote must use regular AA or AAA batteries. http://www.amazon.com/Next-Generation-Remote-Control-Extender/dp/B000C1Z0HA

There are wireless HD and SD audio/video transmitters, but none are as reliable as a wired connection, and good HD models are not cheap. Here is an example of an HD model.

It might be overkill but I think there are a few different versions of SLINGBOX that do what you describe.

Its typically intended to watch remotely over the internet away from your home. BUt I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do it from room to room in the same house. You'd have to read up on it to be sure it has the functionality you want but that might be another option for you.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

I hadn't thought of it, but Slingbox Pro HD might be a good solution, if your home network and internet connection are adequate.
