lately, its been going on around here for a while. if they're not just driving by, i call the cops. there is a city ordinance against playing music loudly.. and usually they're playing it so loudly that the windows in my house rattle.. the cops dont ticket them, they get them to go along their way or have them turn it down.. but if they persist, then they'll get a ticket.

if we're gonna bitch about loud music, how about loud exhaust and motorcycles? They defy ordinances/laws that state you aren't supposed to be able to hear it from X feet away.

If you're gonna moan, moan fairly!

When the bass is loud enough that it rattles your trunk and license plate, I think you may want to consider turning it down. Also, too much bass ruins your car. Ever have play your stereo really loud for months and months, and then realize, when the stereo is turned off, that your door panels rattle like hell?

I don't want to sound like my father, but keep it to yourself!!!!

I still say loud exhaust is JUST as annoying. And I mean loud like the little honda civics that sound like a pissed off bumblebee. Not loud as in a dodge viper. They aren't as loud, but loooooow. Oh, and loud like Harley's. Sorry to your hog fans out there, but those things are just annoying to most other people on the road.

I play my loud but when I'm in my neighborhood, I turn it down because my house is like half way down the street.

Before I end this off, I will tell you why I play my very loud.
-I love the sound of base
-I love to annoy people next my car at red lights. Why? because someday they or there family will piss me off and cause me to road rage. Its great when people shake there heads at me, I feel i have acomplish something when driving!!!
-Say when someone is in front of you and is going really slow, well when we stop at a red light, i make sure to even turn it up louder. Dont piss me off on the road, its not smart. I'll be a ******* someway or another.

    I agree.

I hate the sound of Motorcycles, damn does that piss me off!!!! errrrrrr.
What is the point of making your car look like a race car. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY.

If your gonna put 3000 dollars worth into your car, then give me the money and I'll make sure I'll spend it on something that is worth it. Kids these days!!! and I'm only 20.

If you install it right, it not damage your door panel or other components.
If you don't think you can do it right take it to Best Buy and I'll make sure it right.

You car isn't worth it? Then you must be on of those people who drive around with the plastic bag instead of getting the window fix, the mirror haning by the wire, and the missing fender.

People like that should'nt get brake tag.

    Well spoken

By someone who obviously does NOT ride, does NOT have a clue, has NEVER almost been hit by some total moron that does NOT know how to look, or has NOT ever been hit by some moron that does NOT look!!!!!

Ya know what 99% of people say that hit motorcycles ??

    "I did'nt see them!!!!!!"

And there is a reason that the police enforce loud exhaust on cars and not really motorcycles.

As far as bikes go, there is a saying, "loud exhaust save's live's"

If you're not gonna look to see me you sure as hell are gonna hear me!!!

Many a time i have brought my presence to some idiot's attention by pulling my clutch and giving my bike acouple of rev's

And no, i am not a harley fan & yes i have been hit on my bike in the total right of way by some moron that could not see me at 12 noon in plain site!!

The loud stereo, well, i'm guilty of that also, older days in the car, now just in the house but i do have enough respect to know when to keep it down :P

Because i also have heard jerks coming down my road at 12 midnight, if it shut's off right away, i know they just got home, if i hear it playing and playing, it pisses me off also.

  15. I have recently upgraded the head unit in my car from a tape player to a nice JVC CD player. I would enjoy a powerful sound system in my car.

I always turn the music down in residential areas, especially at night. I have a lot of boy racers going up and down my street, and I know how annoying their music is at 3AM. The worst thing (as previously mentioned) is their exhausts. Who do they think they are going to fool? It's not a Ferrari. It's a battered old 1.2l Punto.

Personally, the quieter my car runs and the smoother the ride the better. I don't like to be noticed. I just want to drive.

ehhh, wrong. You're correct, I don't "ride". A couple close friends own some bikes, and they do all the time. And I do enjoy it, actually. Although I don't enjoy my friend's hog because I go deaf just from riding on it.

And there is that reasoning, that it saves lives. Motorcycles are dangerous to begin with, though. So the louder the better? I don't necessarily buy that. Surely there is some dB level that can be agreed upon that shouldn't be exceeded.

No matter what you're gonna say, I'm still going to get annoyed at motorcylces (hogs and racers alike) whose exhaust is annoyingly blaring. On the other hand, those few motorcyclists who have theirs at a respectable level, I'll respect them by not riding their butt!

(okay, so I don't actually ride jerk's butts, but I think about it!)

I believe that what comes around goes around and tend to laugh at people who blare bass ... because I know that when I reach the age of 65, my hearing will be twice as good as theirs at 35. These "boom-boom" idiots will get their due. Still, I do commend communities that adopt local noise-pollution ordinances ... though fines don't cut it. They should make the punishment fit the crime. Take these jerks, put them in a room for 24 hours while a "boom-boom" stereo blares out Alpine music (grin) ... with accordians, yodeling, and a tuba supplying the bass "oom-pah" background effect.

  19. I have a loud stereo system but I use something called "common sense".

If it's 3AM in the morning and I'm driving through a neighbourhood then I don't have it up loud but if I'm on the highway I'll play it as loud as I want.

Most cities have laws/ordinances on the books. They just aren't enforced that much at all. Read an article about a community here in the KC Metro area, in the last year they only issued 2 tickets concerning noise level on the road. TWO!

Here's an interesting side note. Not long ago, a car passed me on the freeway blaring hip-hop on its boom-boom stereo system ... and in the back seat, there was a baby in a child-restraint seat. I saw the baby but didn't see it long enough to determine whether or not it was crying. But, if it was crying, I doubt if the other occupants in the car could hear it.

Point is, should such high-volume music be banned in cars if one of the occupants is an infant?

Yes, threadjacking is still ileagal here (back to my FEAR comment)

BTW, The adult accupants should be sited for just listening to hip-hop in the first place

Back to the topic. Being president of our HOA, I just convienced the rest of the board to pass a new provision to our CCNRs....Yep, now after the 3rd offense the home owner will be fined. It does not matter if the person is just a visiting and is not an owner. The home owner that they are visiting will be fined. That's why we gave the 3 stricks before the fine. This gives home owners enough time to warn their visiting thumper box friends not to thump in our nieghborhood.
