  1. I am trying convert an svcd to a vcd. I have copied the files onto my hard disk. it wouldn't play with windows media player so i mulitplexed the file using TMPGenc. The multiplexed file played OK in media player but when I tried to burn it as a VCD using Nero Burning Rom I got an error message saying i needed to by the MPEG-2 codec before Nero could re-encode the file and make the VCD. This I did but the resulting VCD has the sound out of synch with the video. In fact the video seems to have been reencoded at a different speed to the sound so it become progressively more out of synch as you get further into the movie. I'm talking seconds here not milliseconds. I've tried reencoding the movie using TMPGenc but get the same results.

When I install the mpeg-2 codec for media player the original multiplexed file plays out of synch and when I unistall the codec the same file then plays in synch. So i think the key to the problem lies with the mpeg-2 codecs.

Can anybody offer any advice or tell me what I'm doing wrong?

    Thanks in advance
