  1. A friend of mine burned a mpeg into vcd on a Blue Layer CompUSA cheapie disc, ran it on my Sony DVP-S360, it played for exactly 6 minutes then quit. The second part of the movie on the other disk(same kind as described above) did the same thing. Also when it failed out the only way I could get it to start playing again was by ejecting the disk and closing it again. Checked the compatibility list and it said it should work fine. He used EasyCD 5 premium to burn disk. I was wondering if there is a setting in the burning process that needs to be changed or is there some sort of setting on my Sony that needs to be changed or is it something else entirely that a greenie, wet behind the ears newbie like myself cannot figure out? Also tried to turn off "PBC" but cannot due to there being no menu to choose from, the movie starts right up when up pop it in. Thanks in advance for any help all!!!!

  2. If you want to be sure it's either the CDR media or the VCD on it that are bad, I suggest you take that disc and try it on a diffrent DVD Player, like Apex or Pioneer, and see if it works on them, if on THOSE it doesn't work, then it's either the Media which could be defective or the VCD that was encoded, however, if it DOES play, then I would highly recommand you put your Sony for sale and get yourself a GOOD player.
