I mainly capture from broadcast tv using a PVR-150. Mostly I use NeroVision Express or Studio 9 to then output to DVD. An annoying trend has been that the TV broadcasters use the rolling credits at the end to advertise the upcoming programmes. The credits are horizontally scaled to the left half of the screen and the right half is used for their advertising.

Are there tools out there that would allow me to scale the left half of the capture to full screen?

I do like to keep the credits in, but watching a programme and it then starts advertising another programme I've missed two months back is just annoying. Muting the sound is easy with Studio. Fixing the video is beyond me at present.

    Regards, jrisch

I've often thought the same thing. While I haven't actually tried it, I suspect the trimming and resizing could be done with VirtualDub, VirtualDubMod or TMPGEnc. The video quality would most likely suffer, though. But you'll never know until you try.

I'm not familiar with those packages. I'm assuming I need to extract the video portion that is compressed and feed it separately though one of those packages, then merge it back in to my video.

    Yes..

But I think you would be better to just recreate the Credits with somthing like Sony Vegas or just cut them out,Because trying to resize them would look really bad IMO.
