Well I've burned many a dvd in my day and they all just have files in the VIDEO_TS folder. What is the point of the AUDIO_TS folder?

I believe it's part of the DVD standard. I don't know that it does much (if anything).

VIDEO_TS folder is for DVD video standard, AUDIO_TS folder is for DVD audio standard.
In this forum there are a lot of threads that could aswer this question. -
It's still a good idea - for Audio DVD (not that there are that many!).
