Sony DRU 530-A

Is there a preferred media for the Sony DRU 530-A dvd writer.

I am having problems with my Fuji media and "Cyclic Redundancy Check" errors.

I have that same burner and have made about 300-400 dvd's with it, I use Nero 6603 and have used primarily Memorex +/- media at 2.4, 4x and 8x, HP 2.4 +RW, have also used some FujiFilm and never had an issue with them. The memorex gives me the best results though. You might want to upgrade or flash the firmware (if you have not done so already) the firmware version that I am at now is 2.1c but there is a newer version 2.1g avail. I have not flashed to that version as of yet. My system specs are AMD 1700+, 256 MB DDR 2100, 2 40 GB HD and Win XP Pro SP2. Hope this helps you somewhat.

I did flash 2.1g this morning. I only have around 1GB of free space, can this be causing problems. I burned an ISO the other day and it worked, but the three after that I have tried have failed?

Dan,
That could be a factor since alot of programs do use a temp file for the working file and then another folder for the final product. I honestly cannot speak for the program you are using for the image file as I use DVD decrypter for only ripping VOB files, then use Nero for burning. I can tell you that there are many knowledgeable people in these forums that can answer ISO image questions. But you would normally want more free space on your HD when dealing with video conversion of any sort.
