    I have a few seperate Video clips that i want to join together and then add some music too later on. What is the best software for joining clips together?

    If they are AVI, try Virtualdub. For MPEG, TMPGEnc encoder. Or look to the left in "Tools' for 'Basic Video Editors'.

    VirtualDubMod - This encompasses VirtualDub and VirtualDub MPEG2.

    Although I've not done it, I'd suspect that VirtualDubMod will do AVIs and MPEGs all in one.

    Also, TMPGEnc has a bit of a reputation for spitting its dummy out when trying to join MPEGs it didn't create.

    That said, if you've got MPEGs and they're destined for DVD - no need to join them. Most authoring tools accept multiple files and then seamlessly combine them during VOB production.

    Virtualdubmod wont join mpg files,if you are going to author then dont join and just insert the parts in the authoring program as described above.
