I'm using Maxell 700mb/80 minute cd-r's with a Yamaha CRW2200E-VK drive and for some reason the cd's only hold 648 mb's. I've looked at cd properties and used Nero and tried other cd's from different companies but it still stays at 648mb. What's wrong with them?

the 2200 will support 700mb, that's not the problem. I don't know what the vk is on the model but you might wanna check yamaha's site

what version of windows are you using? Is the dma turned on for the drive? (normally this only effects write speed but still something to check)
are you running any other burning software, what resident memory programs are running? Another thing could be the driver for the drive, while I've never seen it happen, there is always a first for everything.
