How to burn double-layer DVD with Nero?

I am using Nero Ultra 6.3.1.20, with an NEC2500A single layer burner. All I did was apply the firmware update to make it dual-layer, and Nero recognises it as such. No change to Nero was required.

I'm not sure I understand your question - perhaps you could detail the problem you have ?

Check in NERO that your burner is capable of recording 'DVD+R9'.

Go into 'Recorder' -> 'Choose Recorder' and then select your recorder and it (DVD+R9) should show up in the 'Disc types'.

If you don't see it, you either have a version of Nero which is too old and it doesn't recognise your drive, or the firmware in your DVD burner is too old.

Or you don't have a DL compatible burner.

The latest version of tmpgenc dvd author supports dl burning.

Also for backups you can use dvd decrypter iso read, iso write.

He's trying to get Nero to do it. Nero 6 supports DL burning and if it doesn't recognize the burner as DL I'd say you have firmware or other hardware issues with the burner. If it's installed correctly, and the drive is up to date, Nero should see it when you use "Choose Recorder".
