Anyone using these in a Pioneer 108 / A08? I usually buy Ritek G05 but I am buying 1000 this time and want to save a few bucks. Should I stick with G05 or goto the ProDisc 8x.. I use only HUB PRINTABLE discs ..
I did use the 4x ProDiscs for a short time but started to experience problems although I think it was my LiteOn burner (since I have replaced) with all Pioneer 108's.
Guess I need to here the nah and yahs before I drop the money for 1000-1500 discs.
Also I have been switching to use +R on movie backups thinking this may give better results in players does anyone else do this?
I use the -R product for console backup (PS2, Xbox) and general archiving.
I searched and really didnt find any people or people noting what burner they are using.
thanks in advance
PS I probably spend the extra change to get TY 8x if they had a HUB printable disc or one that actually seems to exist (alot of rumors of them but yet to see or hear of them actually existing)

I have been using the Prodisc 8x -R from both Supermediastore and Rima. I have burned over 500 in the past month with no problems. The 200 batch I got from Supermedia reads as MCC 02RG20, the 300 I got from Rima show up as ProdiscS04. I burn at 8x and print with an Epson 900. Hope this helps.

I can burn the ProdiscS04 at 12x with no issues. I just prefer to do only at 8X.

Luds, good to see you here.
I just bought Memorex 8x at CompUsa , Prodisc F01. They will not burn 8x on Plextor 708A.
Taiyo Yuden @ Rima.com here in the States but they are $.65 each.
Taiyo Yuden DVD-R 4.7GB, 8X, White Inkjet Printable, $0.68 ea., 100-Pack
[Edited] I do not know if they are Hub Printable?? -
Ty's aren't hub printable.
If you've had luck with the G05's, why fix what isn't broke
Before buying that many, get a 100 pack or so and try those out before purchasing a caselot.
Hub printables I know of besides Ritek and Prodisc are, Verbatim, Samsung, Prime/Linkyo (Gigastorage MID) and Optodisc.
Ritek, Verbatim, and Prodisc would be the top 3. The newer 4x Samsungs don't seem to be as good as the older 1x/2x ones.
Verbatim 8x Hub printables go for around $35-$32 a 50 pack from www.shopperwiz.com and www.pagecomputers.com . -
They will not burn 8x on Plextor 708A.

ProdiscS04 won't burn at 8X with Pioneer burner but no problem with other drives. MCC can be burnt at 8X with all 8X DVD burner. So stick with MCC code. For Taiyo Yuden 8X DVD-R, supermediastore.com has a very good deal at $45 for 100 pack.

chunkT,
I don't know if you are still questioning, but about the Yaiyo Yuden being hub printable, I just ordered these from Supermediastore.com:

They appear to be hub printable to me! Hope that helps...

Hi,
I have ~1000 Prodiscs /MCC, ProdiscS04, ProdiscF01/ and ~500 RitekG05 burnt on my Pioneer DVR108 and I have less than 10 coasters during burning. ProdiscS04 does not burn at 8X with this burner. Rima sells them as Prodisc 4X. MCC02RG20 max burn speed is 12X and ProdiscF01 8X .
One note: the discs burn at 12X only after 2GB and only from the hard drive. The burn starts at 6X then at ~390MB goes to 8X and after ~2GB goes to 12X. I hope this helpsl.
Enjoy!
