Hi All, Newbie here ... and very green so please be gentle with me !!
I have been trying to back up some films recorded on my digital tuner with hard drive onto DVD's for safe keeping.
The programs recorded all appear to be in TS format, I have used a whole array of conversion programs - Imgburner, Avidemux, AVS4you etc etc and tried burning the resulting files on to DVD with Windows Player, Nero, DVD styler etc but nothing would read in Alba 108 DVD player !
Eventually I started from a clean file, converting it into an AVi (with Auto GK) and burned the file onto my DVD-RW (with CDBurnerXP), all appeared to be fine and this time, I checked that I can play the resulting DVD on my PC first - which it did, then I remembered that I have a portable DVD player that the kids use in the car, so tried that - and it played ! But put the disk in my Alba DVD player and it just spins round and keeps saying 'load disk' arrgghh !!
Is this a problem with my ALba DVD player or just that the file format or type of DVD are incompatible ???
Help - Oh and please treat me like an idiot (I am one where techie things are concerned !!)

Some players are picky about DVD type (+R, -R). You have to check specifications for your player as to what type of disc is recommended. Some players will not play RW disc alt all.
Other problem could be brand name of the disc. Try to get some Verbatim disc and see if it help.
