tmpg freezes on cuts

it has frozen everytime i cut the second half of my movie, it seeks fine, then when it gets to the output it freezes up. any other good mpeg cutters besides mediaware products? or do you know why this is happening

It looks like it freezes, but it doesn't always (even though Windoze will report (not responding) if you hit Ctrl-Alt-Del. Wait - it takes a lot of time to seek both video and audio streams, then write out the resulting MPG file.

Alternative software for VCD is MyFlix and for both VCD and SVCD is M2Edit Pro.

i agree.....its the same for joining sometimes.......it gets to around 98/99 percent done (when writing the file) and then it appears to lock up......actually its ok, it just takes ages and ages to come out of it for some reason....
