    Hello,

Yep baldricks link will give you plenty of suggestions.

You can also rip the ac3 file in streamproccessing mode with dvd decrypter. Then you can use besweet gui to convert the ac3 to wav or mp3. Then just burn a mp3 disc or make a audio cd from the wav/mp3 files.

  3. I HAVE BEEN TO TWO SITES AND TRIED TWO PROGRAMMES - DVD Audio Extractor AND DVD AUDIO RIPPER. BOTH OF THESE PROGRAMMES CANNOT SEE THE AUDIO FILE ON MY HARD DISK WHICH I WANT TO TAKE THE AUDIO FROM? IN THE PROPERTIES FOR VIDEO FILE IT SAYS THAT THE AUDIO FORMAT IS MPEG LAYER-3. IS THERE A WAY ROUND THIS? DO I NEED THE FILE ON DISK TO COPY THE AUDIO???

    Isn't MPEG Layer 3 short for MP3?

If it is video with mp3 use goldwave, virtualdub and save it as wav.
    Tools and guides:
    https://www.videohelp.com/tools?toolsearch=&s=&orderby=Name&hits=50&convert=AVI+to+WAV&...+or+List+tools

And video with mp3 is not dvd audio.
