If you go to google and search on "error 418" & "virtual dub" it returned some hits worth reading. So did the forum on the VD web site.

I found others that were having simular problems on there but no of the "fixes" worked for me. I turned off preview/overlay with no results.
I did read that someone said that virtualdub would only do 320x240 with my card. That doesnt seem right, too many of these cards out there not to be supported (or I would think anyway) -
Some cards don't do well with native drivers - you might try the web site btwincap.sourceforge.net - thoise drivers work better for some people if your card is supported - look at the card list!
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin' -
I tried those drivers but I get an error when I try to install them.
Is there another program that captures to AVI that doesnt use those drivers? VirtualVCR doesnt work for me either video is total messed up on it (due to drivers I assume)
