  1. D/L'ed "Catch me if you can" as an avi file. I first tried converting to mpeg using TMPEGnc using the same file for video and audo and got NO SOUND. I then used both avi2wav and virtualdub to extract the wav file and went back to TMPEGnc using the wav for the audio source, I received sound but out of sync (made no difference which wav source I used, avi2wav or virtualbud)

    HELP PLEASE

Usally if you save out the sound as a uncompressed wav with VirtualDub then us that as the audio source then this sync issue goes away. But That takes encoding time.

If it is the same off sync all the way through the clip (say 2 seconds ahead or behind)....then use TMPG mpeg tools to seperate audio from video and then clip the one thats ahead.....then multiplex back together. This usally take minutes....instead of hours.

You're violating the forum rules by mentioning a movie that you pirated.

  4. Although I used avi2wav for the first try, I wnet back and used virtualdub (uncompressed) for the 2nd try, and the sync actually seemed worse. I'm not sure what you mean at the end of your replay by "clipping"

To be honest, while I was doing all this converting, I was wondering how TMPEGnc merged the two seperate files so that they would be sync'ed.

As a newbie first class, I would appreciate more detailed instructions. I sure would hate giving up on avi files. It would also be great to know what the end file will be as you look to download various torrents.

    Thanks,
