How can i find out write speed if it does not tell me on the front of the blank dvd-r tried nero info tool but could not find anything
im using
dvd decrypter
dvd2one
recordnow max
i bought a sample pack from online and half dont have the speed on the disc
i have a sony dru500ax

the discs have their max speed written into their ID code, you will only be able to select the speeds they work at in nero. i.e. a 2X media, you will have the option of 2X or 1X writing, a 1X media you will only see 1X listed.

D oes this apply to recordnow max also as i think i seem to remember a drop down with write speed
what if i choose 4x and the disc is a 2x will it ruin the disc or will i get a warning
or will it only give me the option of what i have and under -
as i said, you will only be able to select the speeds your disc supports, this applies to -all- burning software. if you cast your eyes to the left you will see a DVD media section. you can run a simple program to accurately identify any dvd writable discs in your drive, and then look up what other users have experienced with the same disc.
