ive searched the forums and the web for DVD compliance and could not find this issue. Or Must I use ac3 or pcm ??

it is DVD compliant for EC countries and as well works in MOST (but not all) other dvd players ..
that was then and now..............
the DVD spec was recently changed and ac3 and pcm are the standard everywhere - one of those has to be on any dvd , mpeg1 or DTS can also be included (or mpeg1 alone) and in the case of DTS must also have a ac3 track.
i have found several players that would not play mpeg1 audio in north america
