Hmmm, crystal ball mode, let me see. Ah, I have got it, you are using Tmpgenc to create a VCD and want to fit an entire movie on one CD (or I am wasting my time).

Load the unlock template (unlock.mcf in the extras folder) the click setting, system tab and change the stream type to MPEG-1 Video-CD (non-standard). Otherwise TmpGenc will auto pad the data stream to bring it up to 1150kbps.

  4. Thanx for the input but i have changed settings to 'non Standard' , 1 thing i maybe doing wrong is as my first file did not turn out correct , rather than spend 8 hours wiv another setting , is to convert a 1 minute file wiv diff setting but made no difference.

  5. If you are making only smallish changes to the bitrate when you encode your 1 minute clip, make sure you check the size of the output file using the command line, which gives file sizes exact to the byte, rather tha windows explorer which rounds them up to the nearest kilobyte.

  6. Done that still the same. I know i'm doing something wrong i just cant put my finger on it. First of all i run my DivX file into V-Dub. I get the warning about VBR Audio, so i resave the file wiv uncompressed audio PCM. Then load the newly converted DivX file into TMPGEnc, alter the bitrate , chech Video CD ' non Standard ' . It tells me final file will be approx 705meg but still ends up as 850meg..... I think i'm stating to lose it so if u know where i'm going wrong so the more suggestions the better . Cheers

What version if TMPGEnc are you using? One version had a nasty bug, that didn't change the bitrate no matter what settings you used.
