  1. i've downloaded several video clips from the net and they each have varying size and minutes,one file is 3.18mb and it runs for 5.14 minutes while others with the same size runs less then a minute,what i want to know is does the resolution and bitrate determine this?if not then what does? i'm totaly new to this so i've no idea why some files pack more minutes with less mb than the others, and the quality is'nt bad either, all the files i've compared have the extension mpeg

    It is determined by video and audio bitrate only (and the duration of course).

    bits/second X seconds = Total bits

    Rule of thumb: Higher bitrate = higher quality or, bigger file is better
