  1. I have several VCD's wich I want to burn to 1 DVD-disc.
I've tried different options, but I get stuck with either:

    - convert the VCD files to Mpeg2
    - burn only 700 Mb to a DVD disc when keeping the VCD structure.

This is not what I want to do. I want:

    - keep the original Mpeg1 format video-files from the VCD's and
    - burn up to about 4,5 Gb of these files on a DVD-disc that can be recognized as a VCD or DVD, but in any way, will play on my DVD-player.

I guess it has to be possible to create a "VCD" on a DVD-disc, in wich I can use the .DAT files from several VCD-discs and fill my DVD-disc up to about 4,5 Gb.

I'm not looking for quality improvement, complicated menu-structures or subtitles, I just want to copy all these VCD's to a couple of DVD's, so I get a "VCD" that can hold about 450 minutes of VCD-quality video, perhaps with a very simple menu included.

I have some experience with DVD authoring, but so far, this is out of my league.

Can someone help me with this??

    Thanks a lot!!!

Standard VCD video should work fine (CBR, 25 or 29.97 fps, 352*288/240), but the audio stream has to be upped to 48 kHz.

    Ivo1977,

Wow, this is starting to come up as a topic more and more. I'm going through the same thing, putting multiple (about 7.5hrs) VCD tv episodes to one DVD-R.

A simple search should have brought you the following:

Basically, use Ulead MovieFactory2 (or whatever), define your project as MPEG1, 1150k so the video is NOT re-encoded (yuck) and audio at 48k so its resampled(?) from 44k.
    Have a good one,

  4. Hey guys,

    thanks for your replies.
I've tried to find some kind of guide, but seems I didn't do my best

I have to wait with downloading MovieFactory until my cablecompany finally gets my internetconnection up and running (I'm stuck to 56k by phone right now), but then I'm gonna try this right away.

In the meantime, Is MovieFactory the only option (since it's a 30 day trial version) or is there an alternative using some kind of freeware?

    Thanks again,

    Ivo
