How do i get VCD's to auto play, rather than pressing Play/Enter?

You can't. This is a 'feature' of your standalone DVD. However, you can add an autoplay script file to your VCDs to make them autoplay on your PC (given that most PCs are running a MS os which comes with WMP which has MPEG1 support build in).

so one of u tech wiz's out there couldnt (if i told you i had an Apex AD-1500 which has upgradable firmware via cd (can hack macrovison and region free)) make me a cd like the upgrade ones that tells the dvd to now autoplay

(For hardware) This is player dependant, some will some won't. Sounds like what you want is somebody telling you about some miracle firmware upgrade/hack that'll do it. Well I don't think there is. Most hacks are fragile, risky things and are really only done to fix the most major of problems: Region coding and Macrovision. I don't know of anyone wanting to undertake a hack just so you don't have to push the play button.
