  1. I've made many DVD-Rs over the past few months. They all play in my Pioneer DV-333, an Apex 3210, and of course on my computer with the DVD-Burner (an LF-D311).

I've tried to read the DVD-Rs in 3 different DVD-ROM drives (Pioneer 104S, Pioneer 106S, and an older Hitachi) and have had no luck. I've tried disks done with Nero and with RecordNow Max, and all of them give various errors or hangs when trying to access them. Yet, they still work fine in all the other players.

For sure the 106S claims to be DVD-R compatible. I can only think that I must be missing something?

    Anybody have any ideas?
    Thanks....

  2. I think some "cheap" DVD-Rs will not read in some DVD-ROM drives. For example, my PIONEER 103 DVD-ROM drive will NOT read Vivastar 1x DVD-R's burned on a PIONEER A03 DVD-R/W burner. It will, however, read RITEK cheapy DVD-Rs.

Both DVD-R's play on many tabletop DVD players, PS2, etc.

  3. I dont know if this will help u or not but I burn dvd's with my pioneer 104 burner using u-lead movie factory.

they all play on my hitachi dvp325. however i also have an alba 103. disks on verbatim and tdk work fine on this but on other brands dont

tghe moral i guess is that it is hit and miss, keep trying and once you find a combination that works then stick to it!

I also find that if i have 2 level menus i get sticking on the dvd players but if i only use a single level they r fine.

    geoff
