  2. I just made 2 backups using
    DVD DECRYPTER
    DVD2ONE
    RECORDNOW MAX

And they both play on my ps2 without any modchip or bootdisc ..They are in full colour also
the 2 films were tombraider and bourne identity
i have a full scart but my brother tried it on his and it works with the normal scart that came with the ps2
dont know if it works with every movie as i have only backed up 2
maybe someone else will help by telling us if this is the case with all movies done this way or any way for that matter
    hope this helps

  4. What version PS2 do you have? I had some backups burned with Nero that worked a few times but do not work any more. I have the very first US version, which I think may contribute to the compatability issue.

I have been wondering about this also.

I have "backed up" a few DVD's and they will not play on my PS2 but they will play on a friend of mines.

I have also authored original made DVD's and they will not play on my PS2 either but they will play on his.

Both my backed up and original productions will play on my stand alone pioneer DVD player.

He does not have a mod chip and I can't figure out why they will play on his but not mine. Mine plays normal DVD's just fine.

I just figure it has something to do with the date of release of the PS2 and the software abilities at that time.
