PIONEER 105 v.1.30 or v.1.21 AND RITEK G04

can someone tell me if pioneer 105 with new firmware 1.30 is able to burn at 2x on ritek G04 dvd-r?

Was it able with firmware 1.21 before to burn at 2x or 1x and 4x only?

I have firmware 1.00 now but would like to use speed 2x on riteks..

GO4's burn at 4X it shouldnt matter what firmware you use.

I have a 105 with 1.21 firmware and the G04 burns great at 4x. Why would you want to pay the premium for the G04 and only burn at 2X?

If you think that G04 at best speed 4x are good to back up movies than you are wrong...is better slowly but save..check and pay for proffesional tests at c't magazin...you will find out that speed 4x on G04 is good for DATA only...NOT VIDEO....so I would like to use 2x speed on G04..they recommended it...because of this

Oops my bad, I read G04 as G03. I was under the assumption that all the Pioneer drives now allowed the burning of 4x disk as 2x but I guess not, odd.

Tests or no tests, I have backed up movies on G04 at 4x and you cannot tell the difference between the original and the back up.
