  2. Why do you want to go from SVCD to VCD?

  3. m8, if you did want to put a SVCD onto a VCD then you could do it with either:

DVDx- Open a mpeg file as opposed to an IFO

    OR

Tmpeg- this would be the better option

however m8, if you only have 64 megs or ram it will take a while!!!! did u say your processor was 500MHz???

PS I dunno whether you could use nero, but TMPEG is much better than nero!

    Hi, all,
Would this be a good place to ask how much CPU time DVDx uses?
I did a conversion this pm with a 2000XP, 512 Meg RAM, and this machine has Norton Sys works on it, so the CPU Utilization chart was visible. The whole 3 hours CPU Utilization was 100%. I don't know what the other machine does, but will install Norton to see.
I was happy to see that the result was very, very good. I'm watching it now, and not much different than the DVD.
    Thanks,
    George

  6. gmatov- 3 hours is a good encode time, although it obviously depends on the setting/parameters and also the length of the movie, but for the average movie, 3 hrs encoding time is good m8, if you closed the Nornton program then it would decrease even more (but only by a little bit!)

the only problem with DVDx is that you cant have a VBR and so the play time per CD (on SVCD) is not more than 40 mins
