Do any of you know of a program that can resize video encoded with the wrong aspect ratio? (original source file already deleted, duh)
The original was 16:9 and I encoded to 4:3 now I need to squish it back down. Help an idiot out if you know how to do this. Thanks

Things like that happen to everybody.

I would re-compress the file with Tmpgenc. You can open the MPEG-1 file, go to Settings, and for Video select 352x288, select aspect ration 4:3, set the bitrate to the original bitrate (1150kbps?) and then go to Advanced to select "Video Arrange Method" as Center (Custom Size) and set the dimensions to 352 and 220. 220 is a number I have reached by trial and error. It makes horizontal size narrower to the extent that the aspect ratio is corrected (for my TV, that is).

Use Preview (File --> Preview) in Tmpgenc to verify correct aspect ratio once you choose the dimensions. Adjust the actual value if desired.

    Hope this helps
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
