Hello, about 4 of my many VCD movies were coming up as audio cds and only containd track1.cda and track2.cda.. i tried running both tracks on media player 7 and winDVD but neither worked, but they play fine on a stand alone DVD player!?.. (i tried them at a m8s)
i've tried VLC media player but that didn't work. I've upgraded from win98 to WinXP pro cos i was told that would solve it but it hasn'tinfact it's a bit worse! the VCDs now don't show up at all?! the cd drive shows that there is a disc in but makes out that it's empty..
i've even upgraded the firmware of my CDRW and that hasn't helped..
It's frustrating because i can read the discs in CDRwin and CloneCD and copy them if i wanted to!?! so my computer can obviously read them so why won't it play them!!! aarrrrrgggg..
Does anyone have any ideas??? cos other than buying a stand alone DVD player i'm stumped.

i've been told that they might have some kinda protection on them but have no idea how i'd get round it...

Looking through the forums the only thing i can see that might cause my pc not to play these films is if FreeLock or WinLock were used to copy protect them. (althought i could easily be wrong) i know the guy i buy from uses a duplicator so that wouldn't effect him (so i've been told)..
so is there any way to take the protection off?? i'm not after copying them i just want to watch them, and my PC is all i have to play VCDs
