  1. Hello, about 4 of my many VCD movies were coming up as audio cds and only containd track1.cda and track2.cda.. i tried running both tracks on media player 7 and winDVD but neither worked, but they play fine on a stand alone DVD player!?.. (i tried them at a m8s)
i've tried VLC media player but that didn't work. I've upgraded from win98 to WinXP pro cos i was told that would solve it but it hasn't infact it's a bit worse! the VCDs now don't show up at all?! the cd drive shows that there is a disc in but makes out that it's empty..
i've even upgraded the firmware of my CDRW and that hasn't helped..
It's frustrating because i can read the discs in CDRwin and CloneCD and copy them if i wanted to!?! so my computer can obviously read them so why won't it play them!!! aarrrrrgggg..
Does anyone have any ideas??? cos other than buying a stand alone DVD player i'm stumped.

  3. Looking through the forums the only thing i can see that might cause my pc not to play these films is if FreeLock or WinLock were used to copy protect them. (althought i could easily be wrong) i know the guy i buy from uses a duplicator so that wouldn't effect him (so i've been told)..
so is there any way to take the protection off?? i'm not after copying them i just want to watch them, and my PC is all i have to play VCDs
