  1. Hello All,

I am having a problem ripping a DVD to a DIVX CD to play in my laptop. I have read just about everything and cannot seem to figure it out. I have been using FORTY-TWO for this process. It is an OUTSTANDING program. When I explore the original DVD there are two folders: VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS. AUDIO_TS is empty. There seems to be nothing in the folder...The other folder has the following files:

    contents of VIDEO_TS

    VTS_01_0.VOB 12KB
    VTS_01_0.IFO 12KB
    VTS_01_1.VOB 6.6MB
    VTS_02_1.VOB 50KB
    VTS_01_3.VOB 50KB
    VTS_01_2.VOB 324KB
    VIDEO_TS.BUP 1,023.8 MB
    VIDEO_TS.VOB 1,023.8 MB
    VTS_02_0.VOB 363.2 MB
    VTS_02_0.IFO 24 KB
    VTS_01_0.BUP 24 KB
    VIDEO_TS.IFO 324 KB
    VTS_02_0.BUP 128.9 MB

When I try to rip using FORTY TWO (1.0.X and 1.5) all it does is rip the opening dialog (about 15 seconds) and then stops stating the process was successful.

BTW...I have both a windows PC and a Mac with OS X. Really want to do it on the mac. All help appreciated. The more specific the better. The DVD is a Yu-Gi-Oh DVD for the kids to watch on the laptop.

Thanks in advance. BTW...Please reply here so that others can benefit from the information.

  2. WOW!!

I thought I'd seen some badly authored DVD's before, but that one is just...OMG!!

forty-two won't work on this dvd, because for some *inexplicable reason* the actual content isn't a part of a TitleSet, but is instead crammed into the VIDEO_TS files!

Sorry man. Won't work. That DVD is so far out of spec its not funny.

    -K

  3. That's what I figured. Do you have any ideas at all? I tried OSex and FFmpeg but neither of them seemed to work. Would be cool to take the VOB files and DivX them to a CD.

    Thanks for the reply.

BTW...did you ever get a P.O. Box so that I could make a donation to forty-two?
