  1. Does the trial version of Instant copy not remove the extra/special features on the dvd to save space and video quality for the main movie. Or am I missing something. The only option I saw was to remove dvd-rom content. I thought IC was also suppose to remove the extra featues.

  2. InstantCopy does not support the removal of extras. There is a registry hack that you can use. Do a search and you will find it posted somewhere here.... There is a problem if you choose to remove extras and titlsets that the DVD could be unplayable....cause of navigational problems.

Wrong.I've backed up several DVDs but did not keep all the extras, some of the extras i de-selected in the customizing menu and took out completly.

The resulting DVDs works and play fine.

  5. If you want just the main movie DVD2one is for you.

You can select which audio to keep what subs to keep it also keeps all the chapters. It only does the main movie so you don't have to worry about extras.
It does all this in about 20 minutes.

It's a hit and miss depends on the movie. All its is is a waste of time... if the movie doesn't work. Check out Doom9 forums. You do it your way... when 1 day you get crap remember you did it to yourself.

In the customizing menu you can deselect and remove exteas&parts of the DVD completly if you want. But you need to download this tiny file first for the registrey hack: IC7_MovieOnly_reg.zip

You can find it at this page here: http://www.mrbass.org/instantcopy/

Once you download it.Click on it and it'll ask if you want to move it to the registrey.Click yes and your done. Now you should be able to de-select and remove any extras in the little checked boxes that you want.

And don't listen to Nyplayer he dos'ent know what he's talking about.I've removed several extras from DVDs with instantcopy in the past, but kept the rest of the menus&stuff. The resulting DVDs played fine.

Yeah i can understand that about removing a movie logo. But mainly when i talk about removeing extras,i'm referring to stuff like junk movie trailors to other movies which take up valuble space.I always remove those and never have any problems with the rest of the menus or extras.

    Start up instantcopy.

Click "details".Then click the DVD tab.Under Copy method, select Customized resize. Now when you go to start copying, the customizing menu will pop up first allowing you to choose which extras you want to keep and which parts of the DVD get the best quality.

I've let it run past the part that says its reading and anylizing video should it be popping up by now? Is there a way to see it the reg trick is installed. I did the reg trick while IC was NOT running..

What are the rest of your settings at? Other than the customized resize option,i leave ALL of the other settings at the default and "automatic" settings.

Also you are trying to copy a DVD right? Did you ripp/copy the DVD to your harddrive first?

    Star Warrior,

NYPlayer is right, IC7 DOES NOT currently fully support the removal of titles and menus (ask Pinnacle) and still be fully compliant on all players. Which is why it's DISABLED at the moment and your'e having to apply an unofficial Reg hack at your own risk and luck.

You're following a guide, what guide? Instantcopy is simple enough that it does not require a guide. At least not for me.

    What ripper are you useing?

    This is all i do:
    • 1) With Smartripper i ripp the entire DVD to my harddrive.I use the backup mode.
    • 2) Open InstantCopy.Under source,i select the harddrive. Then locate the folder where i ripped the dvd files and select the video ts thing inside.
    • 3) Press okay to start up instantcopy. Then custom menu pops up.I do whatever editing that i want and then press ok for Instantcopy to do its thing.

Just because it is unoffical does not mean it will not work.I have not yet enountered any problems by removing extras yet.The DVDs i've made so far with instantcopy work and play well on my standalone player.

    Star Warrior,

Yeah, fine if it works for you, I won't argue with that, but many do have problems due the reason I stated.

Apparrently Pinnacle are working on this being in a future release, then it should work for everyone, with no hack!

  20. I was refering to the link that star warrior posted up towards the top of this post.

I finally got it to work. I had it set to customized resize. I switched back to automatic then back again to customized. then it worked.
