    I have a .MDS file along with the .ISO file. Do I need the MDS? What is it?

    If you have the ISO file that is all you need to burn a disc from the ISO image.

    Sure it`s not an MD5 file ? MD5 files are checksum files to verify the file you downloaded is exatly the same size as the original file.

    Its a Media Descriptor file. DVD Decrypter creates them when you're ripping a DVD into ISo. I don't know that you need to keep it around. Maybe it is kind of a checksum for ISO files? I don't think most programs know what to do with it, so its not crucial.

    Daemon Tools lists it in image file types, so maybe its something between a checksum and a cuesheet. For example, if you have movie.mds with movie.iso, and you choose to mount movie.mds, it mounts movie.iso
