  1. Hi,

I recently bought a AKAI 200BL for $60.00 at BlockBuster. So far it has been able to play everything I have been able to generate

Awhile back, I ripped a DVD and kept the VIDEO_TS file on my disk after burning a DVD-R.

    Yesterday I burned a DVD-RW from the VIDEO_TS folder.

The DVD-R played fine on my Sony and AKAI player, the DVD-RW is not recognized by the Sony. On the AKAI after loading the disk I get a directory of the VOBs. I *can* play the VOBs ok but there is no menu structure.

    Are DVD-RW's naturally funky?

  2. Doh!,

I mistakenly burned the dvd-rw with the contents of the VIDEO_TS folder as the top level files instead of the VIDEO_TS folder.

In any case it is nice to know that the player will see the VOBs at the top level and let you play them...
