There's something funky going on with my Vegas timeline. I wanted to insert something on the timeline at 2:00 minutes exactly, and I zoomed and zoomed and find there is no 2:00! What happened here? See Screenshot

Turn off drop frame. It's all about matching 59.94 fields per sec. to real time duration.

I don't have Vegas on this laptop so consult Vegas help for "drop frame" setting.

It's always been set on SMPTE Drop, and it is now.. this is with the semi-colon preceding the frame numbers in the timecode..

I was suggesting you try turning drop frame off (no semicolon).

Thanks, that worked, but why did I have to do that, when I've always had it on drop since I started using Vegas several versions ago...?

Drop frame is the default for broadcast TV where they need to match a realtime clock to hundredths of a second. If you turn drop frame off, there will be a small error in timecode reported program length due to 59.94 video fields per second instead of 60.

This is not for broadcast, just standard NTSC DVD.. I use Adobe Encore DVD for my authoring, and I think it uses Drop Frame, so I really would like to get this fixed otherwise I think the time will be off for setting my chapter markers when I go to do the authoring..
