I'm doing DVD-R and I'm trying to understand the correct settings in TMPGEnc and .... I do understand the difference between interlaced and non-interlaced but when I read the different guides I don't get the same instructions .... or maybe I'm reading something into it?
1: Video Source. My source is an avi file that was captured in Virtualdub (from S-VHS) so it came from cassette tape (isn't that film?) (but was recorded from TV which was originally interlaced) so .... now that its on my computer isn't my source now Non-interlaced for my video souce setting in TMPGEnc??
2. Video Output. Since I'm going to watch this on my TV would not this setting be Interlaced for video output?
3. The instructions recommend that you separate the video and the sound or you may get some audio problems. I haven't and when I see the final results I have 2 files ... the video AND the audio as a wav file. Now ... I have also found out that the video file (m2v) DOES have audio embedded in it, because when I play the m2v back I always get sound!! I thought that they were supposed to be separate??
4. I was told that Spruceup might be a good authoring tool to finish and burn .... but I'm wondering if it's no longer supported will it recognize my Pioneer A05? And if so .... does the trial have a limited time that you can use it? And what to do after that?
5. I was told that if I use the software I have (MyDVD) just to author that it will reprocess my video that was already encoded in TMPGEnc, so that I lose quality. If I understand MyDVD right though ..... if it is already encoded as Legal DVD it does not reprocess?? Can anybody shed any light on this?
I apologize for so many questions. There is a lot more to learn than I first thought .... and even though I've read my butt off ... I still need as much help as I can get. Thanks in advance for any replies.
