Hi,
I've been looking around the web for a capture card for a Powermac that supports both NTSC and PAL standards as I have some old VHS tapes in PAL that I want to record before they die and I want it to capture a stream of video from the TV or camcorder (analog or dv).
I want to get the best capture quality possible and don't want to worry about audio syncing, so from what I've read so far, the Canopus ADVC-100 looks like the best buy. Are there any better cards in/around the same price range for doing this? I'm not interesting in complex editing functions, I just want to record, maybe chop the ends slightly and burn to DVD-R...
One thing I forgot to mention is that I'm running OS X 10.2.3 and plan on using iDVD to burn - does this support PAL as well as NTSC output?
TIA - ma
