  1. I have a Pinacel Studio 8 system in my pc with their card. capture and audio is ot of sync.

    Two Questions

    1. is their any other software that will work with this capture device.

    2. What card is best for capture from VCR and Video 8 Camcorder.

may also want to be able to use USB and 1394 input for later.

Need Answer Soon i have had it with Sudio 8 software.

    Thanks

  2. I dont have the card or the software that you are talking about, but it sounds like the problem is systemic, meaning that it is probably something in the way your hardware/software is configured.

As far as compatible software(s), I personally use for real time capture, powervcrII and for avi to convert captures, IUVCR with the pegasys codec set to 18.

I'm assuming that you have checked for updated drivers and whatnot on the respective sites and for your motherboard. Are your system resources being taxed when you cap. Is the sync issue only at start up or during the entire cap. Are you losing frames in your cap, is the sync gradual or all over the board?

  4. I bought the dc-10, which I believe was the pinnacle card and could NOT get it to work at all. A different between our systems is that my OS is XP and yours is 2000. If we are talking the same card, I returned the $100 card and bought myself the ATI tv tuner card and with iuvcr and powervcr II have been very happy with it.

I say that because I spent MANY hours farting with the card and finally just gave up. I am sure there are people out there that use it and it works faithfully, but my personal opinion is that unless your getting a higher end card, the ati tv wonder's seem to perform the same as other slightly higher and lower priced cards. Just an opinion...
