i recently downloaded a nice xvid movie which is 1:50:24 of time and i wanted to split it up into 2 svcds. the first half i made was fine, but the second half, during the middle of the encoding, the screen would turn black. i stopped encoding and played the unfinished file, but once i reached the part where the encoding turned black, my video player would stop responding. This problem has happened a couple of times to me on other xvid files i was trying to encode. The first half was fine, but the second half screws up. Anyone know what i'm doing wrong?![]()

did you split the file before you converted?
what program did u use to convert?
what player are you using to play the svcd mpg's?
these are all important factors in determining your problem
post that info and maybe i can help you
the blackness could also be caused by the fact that the video never finished encoding because of some undertermined error
start by posting the answers to my questions
