I was watching a Divx movie last night, and it crashed so i had to restart trh e movie.....
the problem was when i fast fowarded it to the part it was on, the audio was out of sync for 1 - 3 sec's.
Why does this happen? How can i fix it so that i can fast foward thru movies?
I tried the movie in Divx Pro alpha, Radlight, and Media player.... all the same results. ... someone please help!

From what I understand, this is normal. The player needs to get to a "key" frame to restore sync. The time between key frames was set when the file was created and 1-3 secs. isn't bad. Unless you want to re-encode or convert into a different format, you have to live with it

8) um just out of the lack of anything better to do.
is it staying out of sync, or is it fixing it self?
I have found that some older Divx movies (below 4.1) work a lot better if i copy the movie to the hard drive first. ( no chrash or cd noise ect...)
hope that helpsI know Everything about nothing, And Nothing about Everything. -
well what i did was increased the size of my paging files, from 180 - 338. this seems to help in that the the virtual memory doesnt crah anymore.
I am running 256mb of ram pc2100.... would that effect the playback?
Also I am running the Nimo codec, and divX 5.02... but i just deleted the divX codec and that seemed to give my playback a bit of a boost.
