Hi!
I´m using the NEC ND1100A Dell-style, it only works with DVD+, you know which one I´m talking about. It´s been giving me problems and after a little diggin´ I figured out, it runs in PIO-Mode. Since I´m using Win XP, I can only choose "Use DMA, when possible", which I tried, but to no avail, still PIO. The IDE Channel that it´s on is set to AUTO in the BIOS and correctly recognizes a CD-ROM-Device, so there shouldn´t be a problem here.
Any suggestions anyone?

Just wanted to let you know, I solved the problem. I uninstalled IDE Channel 2, restarted the computer, let it re-install the IDE-channel, set the DMA-setting for the NEC to "DMA, if available", restarted again and ... voilá!
I just hate it when threads are just left hanging.
