  1. I am trying to copy a tape to DVD that was created in 1982 but when I capture the screen is flickering. I have tied 2 different VCR one old and one new. I have cleaned them both and I have ran Stinky's microvision path for ATI cards. I am using a ATI all in Wonder Radeon. I have searched the boards and found a few thing but I am interested in this old copy protection before mircovison. Does anyone know about it and how to get around it. I am pretty sure that is what I am dealing with but I am open for any suggestions. Here is the post I am talking about. What is a TBC?

How old are these tapes? Some very old VHS rental tapes had a form of copy protection different from macrovision. It reduced the size of the vertical sync pulse which caused the picture to roll & jump when copied to another tape---also caused many TVs to roll too.

Get a TBC if you can afford one. It really helps when capturing from old tapes.

  2. if you have a camcorder you might want to record it onto that first in the hopes that the camcorder has a TBC(Time Base Corrector even half frame TBC will make a difference) then capture
