  1. This is really odd, I'm not sure what's caused this all, but I've got a few questions/problems with forty-two and maybe some folks here can help me.

    1. First of all, I get a handfull of lines like "/.mplayer/conf : No such directory or filename" shortly after the "Altivec Enc" or something are shown up, not sure why? any ideas?

    2. Secondly, my DVD > SVCD works fine, I drag the DVD into the Forty-Two window, hit start, preview looks great, come back a few hours later with two MPG files. But my DVD > DVD with Forty-Two is really off. The audio is there in the preview and in perfect sync, but in the final version there is NO AUDIO at all. I'm not sure why. Apparently there was a bug in the first release, so I made sure I downloaded the "42-Fixed.dmg" file from Kai's site/post earlier, and replaced the forty-two.app file...

    3. With DVD > SVCD I'm expecting two MPG files to come out after it's all said and done... But for some reason, when I did DVD > DVD I got two MPG files as well... I was expecting only ONE file that I would in turn burn to a DVD-R. One of the files was 1.95GB and the other was about 800MB... maybe it's just me, but isn't there something wrong with that?

    4. Burning a DVD? How? Once I get the MPG file(s) from Forty-Two, how do I burn those too a DVD-R that would be compatible with a Standalone player? With the SVCDs I used VCDToolsX to create the XML, and the IMG files. Anyone able to lend some assistence in this department?

Well that's all the questions I happen to have, I've asked a few times in other topics but people have casually skipped over my questions, so I decided make one post and get all my questions compiled into one.

If someone could help me out with these it'd be very much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Flip

PS: Many thanks go out to the folks that made this possible. 42 has been nothing short of amazing for me. Keep up the good work, and I can't wait until the new version comes out.

Well for your use the best and cheapest is the shareware "Sizzle". Its a simple application to author a DVD-Image and burn it with Toast.

But you can't set markers! If you want to be able to do this and much more you have to use a authoring tool like DVD Studio Pro which is offered by apple .... it costs a lot! ((

  4. Based on Kai's post reguarding the upcoming version of 42 being in active testing, I'll withdraw my questions for now.

The current released version still has issues wrt dvd-dvd for some people. Don't bother, it will only bring you grief.

The other modes are fine, so if you wanna do anything *but* DVD-DVD, keep pluggin' away.
